Hadlee's Space

Nick surprised me with this a while ago.  I loved it so much but didn't know where to put it. So I added some silk flowers to it and hung it in the baby's room. It is one of my favorite decorations!
The chair, also a surprise from, Nick. That precious flamango was from our trip to the zoo a few weeks ago. The striped boppy cover I could drool over.

This little basket was pertty boring until I added those cute little poms to it.
This is the storage for her exsessive amount of swaddles.
La bassinet that I have to look at everytime I walk passed her room. It is just my favorite.
Glass flowers, and faux crystal knobs go hand in hand.
Cookie jars for binkies & headbands.
Peacock chair also from Nicks mama!
The little lady's closet. Since we weren't planning on staying in this house we had to make do with what we had, and unfrotunatly her room does not have a closet, soooo I built this ditty, and once she has the real deal it will become a play tent or tee pee.

We will just open this a bit, get some cute fabric & voila! we will have a teepee!
The cute little knobs & all their glory!
Her shoe basket that resides in her 'closet'.
We have a problem already!

Small Goodwill basinet that hangs out on her dresser.  One of my favorite finds.

& we put it all together, there you have it!
Hadlee Gray & all of her space. This itty bitty being gets her own room; I don't even get my own room.

We may paint it. I'll add some art, perhaps. Right now I'm just so happy she has her own room.
3 weeks, Hadlee, 3 freakin' weeks!

Boho Baby Shower

I owe a huge thanks to Stephanie, Lynn and Taylor; Without them this wouldn't be.

I'm sure Stephanie woke up at the crack of dawn to make all of this happen. So many great dishes, and most homemade! That gold painted 'H' now resides in Hadlee's room. Thank you, Taylor!
Stawberry-Basil Lemonade!
Ladybug Caprese bites
One of my many favorite eats.
This little baby was probably one of my favorite details.
So... Stephanie made this teepee out of bamboo from a friends yard, and her grandmothers balanket! It was the home for all of the gifts. If I could have fit it in my pocket, it would have went home with me.

Does this look familar? Now a decoration in H-bombs room.

LOVE this setup. A mixture of vintages glasses for the tea, and high quality H2o.

& last but not least, the only photo of my bump from the shower. Me on the right, my friend, Becca who is 3 weeks behind me, on the left.

Thank ya'll for coming and celebrating this exciting time in our lives!

P.S. I am still working on Thank You Cards. Life is getting the best of me, so sorry guys!

Dear Hadlee

Hadlee,

I have to tell you, I'm scared. I'm petrified. Just five short weeks before I get to see your tiny hands wrapped around my finger. There are so many, 'what ifs' sprinting through my head. What if I'm not a good mom? What if I say, "no" too often, and, "yes" too seldom? What if the bath water is too hot? What if you roll off the bed; will I forgive myself? What if my sailor mouth never resides, as much as I try. I'm doing my best to cut down on those 'f' words, and dammits, but I still find myself having bad days, saying those bad words. What happens when you cry, and I don't know how to make it better? Who's going to comfort me when the tears are running down my face, because I can't figure out how to make yours stop? What will I do when I'm running on E, and you have a full tank? Will you even like me?

All I know at this point is that I have half the energy, and twice the appetite. Daddy has to tie my shoes for me. I don't sleep much these days. Heart burn is the worst, I get full too quickly, and hungry too fast, but I don't care about any of it, because I am madly in love with you already.

Sometimes I lay in my just laughing at the way you make me feel. I only smile when I think about you.

If you are ever cranky in there because your suddenly woken from your tiny naps, you can thank your impatient daddy. When he wants to feel your little kicks, he pokes and shakes, yells your name, and says silly things hoping it will make you dance. Does it, Hadlee? Do you dance to the sound of your daddy's voice? You're going to love him, baby. Your dad is the very best, and he will make you giggle more than any person in your life. He will make you so happy when you are the saddest. He will most likely say yes, more than I will. He is my very best friend, and he will be yours too!

You aren't coming into this home alone, baby. You already have two brothers, and one sister. You've heard from you sister, she talks to you a lot. Addi will teach you all about red lipstick, and how necessary it is before you go to the grocery store. Kellen will teach you how to dance, and all about violence. Peyton will show you what it's like to be completely selfless. You already have so much love and support; so many teachers already. You are a very, very lucky girl.

Sometimes I google strange things, like, 'how to be a good mom', amongst other silly things. It's apparent there is no right answer to that question. I only know one thing for certain; that I love you more than anything on this planet; From there things should fall in place. You are my number one, and I haven't even met you. I love you, Hadlee Gray. Get here safe so I can kiss those already chubby cheeks.

Love, mom

It's been along time without you my friend...

Pregnancy takes a bigger toll than I ever expected. I planned so many fun bump updates, and crafts, and photo sessions, and guess what, pregnant happened.  I turned into a grumpy hermit. I have cried more these past 7 months, than I have in my entire life combined, and hard! I throw things, and I could probably start a fire with two sticks, and pure rage.

On the bright side of things, the baby is and has been healthy from day one. She is measuring right on time, September 7th, ironically labor day! I will be 30 weeks tomorrow, and I just can not believe it.

Since I have been slacking I'm going to try my best to go through a time line.

That fuzzy little plus sign appeared first on New Years Day, of course like any other girl in the world that one test just instead good enough, so I took another, and another. At this point I'm shocked the tests didn't start saying, 'enough already'. I was just too excited, and seeing each test was like finding out all over again. We had been actively trying for this little babe since June 2014. We didn't tell anyone at first, which was very hard for me. I just wanted to tell the world! But, like any cautious expecting parent, we waited.

'Morning sickness' didn't come so quick, so I thought I was one of the lucky ones, nope... About 4 weeks after I found out, the bitch came, unwelcomed, and the bitch stayed until about 16 weeks. I never really got sick, just a constant annoying stomach ache. Back up about two weeks, and we found out it was indeed a girl! I was so excited, I mean beyond excited! My brothers all have baby boys, I was so excited to announce the first girl! As we go forward our 20 week appointment (at 18 weeks) went well. Everything measured well, except her heart, they couldn't get a good picture of her heart because she was clearly comfy in her position, I went in a couple weeks later, and she was more lively, she let us see how big her heart already is! Everything was perfect!

Aside from my crazy emotions everything at this point is pretty smooth sailing. No stretch marks, baby is healthy, and the numbers on that scale crept without my permission. That is hard to swallow, but the baby is healthy, and that is ultimately all that matters. Fast forward to the infamous glucose testing; The drink was not bad at all, thanks a lot, to all the assholes who made me worry so much about that dumb little drink. The test period wasn't bad at all, until they tell you, you failed, which isn't a good thing for my thrashing emotions, 'what have I done wrong?', 'Is the baby okay?, 'Did I eat too many Sprees, and not enough spinach?' The list of questions goes on and on. When you fail this test, you have to retake it. Seems easy enough, right? No! No! No! You go in first thing in the morning, and no you can not eat! You wait in the waiting room, on time, while you see all the employees playing grab-ass, and taking their time. 30 minutes past your appointment they finally call you back to the blood drawing throne. I get the rookie who doesn't know what he is doing. He takes a tube of blood, and walks around the corner, I hear, 'she's here for her glucose testing that's the wrong tube, you need the one with the green lid' My thoughts, 'switch the bloody lid!' (no pun intended). No, he just took it upon himself to stick me again, and take MORE blood. After this with a smile they say, 'Okay, don't eat, don't leave, and don't fall asleep, we will see you in exactly one hour.' I thought maybe they'd seat me in a comfy cushiony chair with some People Magazines, in a nice quiet place. No, they basically open the door to the waiting room, and nudge me out. No people magazines, only people, ugh. Marge was sitting in the corner wondering why she hasn't had her MRI yet, and Beth is over there knitting with a Cinnabon frosting dripping off her chin. Don't worry, with Marge screaming about being seen, I wasn't about to go to sleep, but I was tempted to go over to 80-year-old Beth and lick that frosting right off of her face. I was hungry, what?!? After this, nothing exciting happens for the next 3 hours. I sat on that thrown at 9:51, 10:51, and 11:51 until I was done. Finally I was done, now please inform me I do not have Diabetes. I found out at about 7 that night, that I do not have Diabetes! Yay! for this, but the test is something I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I don't remember if I found my first stretch mark before or after this test but this did not help with my emotional bipolar-coaster. I cried, I took a hundred photos at a hundred different angles, I tried to convince myself it was a bruise or a figment of my imagination. It's finally settled in, it is indeed a stretch mark. I have been coating my stomach in special creams, and lotions. Ladies, I didn't believe it when it was told to me but genetics are genetics. You will inevitably get them, no matter what you do. I'm coping now, the tears are dried and Mederma is now on my bed side, in my purse, and on my vanity at all times. If I can not prevent them, I will do what I can to fade them as soon as possible. I have only been using the cream for a few days, I will keep you posted as to how well it works.

Those are the major mile stones, I first felt a definite baby kick around 25 weeks, and from there it's been madness. She was shy when it came to Nick feeling her move around, but now she kicks him harder than I would like to;). I know if I was keeping with with these updates they would be more in depth, and fun, but I just didn't want to do anything, and I still do not want to do anything. I went from working a full time job, going home, and cooking a few times a week, doing laundry, and dishes each night, to just working, and sleeping, and eating out a lot. I was scared for a while that things wouldn't go back to normal after this pregnancy, that I turned into his ex wife, a hermit, and a useless human being. Thanks to my best friend Nichole she assured me (since she just had a baby) that things go back to normal afterwards, and your appetite for life does in fact come back. She has pretty much been my sappy rock through all of this. Shes my web MD, and the person I ask the questions, that I would never want in my search engine, and the person who tells me if I'm being down right loco. I owe you loads, and loads of thanks, Nichole! I wish we didn't live so far away from each other! Anyway, before my mascara runs anymore back to my little bundle, and all the glory of my changing body.
Boobs, are huge, and always have been. weight gain is normal to average at this rate, but it still isn't a nice feeling seeing those numbers creep. I do have some lower back pain, but it's not often, and mostly when it's time for bed. I get swollen ankles, they look almost like I went to one of those clowns, and when he said 'what would you like little girl?', and I said I want an ankle but bigger. Yes, my ankles at the end of some days look like balloons, and the toes look like those little Smokie Sausages, which make me hungry, which make those numbers on the scale creep even higher. It's all just a vicious circle. It might sound like I'm complaining a lot, but that is just because I am complaining a lot. Nothing, however outweighs the excitement brewing in my heart, and soul about meeting my baby girl. I love you already, Hadlee, and I simply can not wait to meet you!

It's my Daddy, and Nevada, and Jesus Christ

Nevada is so close, yet so far away. This post is very premature, but I just can not wait. Plus, if I don't start my list now, I will forget everything I need. This is my attempt at being organized. I like to carry all essentials in my carry on just in case something happens to my luggage (I cross my figures this never happens!)

                          + Hand sanitizer
+ Eos. Because how can you go anywhere without Eos
+ Money (Going to Nevada after all)
                          +Toothbrush & toothpaste
                          +Kat Von D eye liner
                          +Kate spade travel wallet/ Planner
                          +Neck pillow
                          +Camera
+ Coco butter for the dry skin
+Burt's Bees shampoo & conditioner is betta'
+The cutest weekender bag you ever did see
                          +Face wipes
+Portable and wall charger for le phone
                          + Head phones

In Atlanta we have a giant enclosed Farris Wheel call the Sky View. Nick had the surprising-idea to ride it one day with the kiddos. What a mistake. If Addison blinked too hard, he was screaming at her. If Kellen sneezed, he was grounded. If Peyton smiled too quickly no dinner for 3 nights. So, with this being said I am nervous for him to fly, and even more nervous for myself. I can't handle a man-child for 6 hours at 37,000 feet. I'll do my best to comfort him, however I if it gets too unbearable, I'll jump.
Stay tuned!
